Visit Wyandot County
Wyandot County, Ohio
Wyandot County is one of the most serene areas in Ohio. Being located directly half-way between the major metros of Columbus and Toledo, Wyandot is the 7th least populated county in the state. While it may be home to some of the most peaceful towns including the City of Upper Sandusky, and Villages of Carey, Sycamore, Nevada, Harpster, Wharton, Kirby, and Marseilles; Wyandot County offers all the community and business amenities one might seek. From great local fare, local wines, and craft beers, to community theater, to multiple local and state parks - Wyandot County provides a high quality of life and low cost of living.
Having long been a center for manufacturing, agri-business and transportation operations in Northwest Ohio, Wyandot County is steeped in history. The county was home to the last Native American reservation in the state of Ohio. The Mission Church, Indian Mill and Colonel Crawford Monument link the county to its rich heritage, and the Lincoln Highway connects it with the rest of the nation. Even astronaut Neil Armstrong attended junior high school in Upper Sandusky.
Wyandot also boasts easy transportation access provided by an abundance of state routes, and serves as the intersection to two, 4-lane divided highways US-23 and US-30. Residents have access to all the amenities and services of larger metropolitan areas within just a 30 minute drive, and those of major metropolitan areas within a 60 minute drive. Great school districts and increasing area employment opportunities are just a few of the other many reasons that residents remain or relocate in Wyandot County.
